John Boehner has said he’s ready to be the Republican leader of the House of Representatives in 2018.
But the Ohio Republican has been coy about his intentions and has said little about whether he’ll run for president.
“I’m a great man.
I’m a family man,” he told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“I’m just a great human being.”
Boehner said he’d be open to running for president but did not answer questions about whether or not he would.
“The decision is for the people to make,” he said.
Boehrtens approval rating has plummeted over the past year, to about 45% nationally.
The Ohio congressman and former vice president has long been an ardent supporter of Donald Trump and his party, and he has repeatedly expressed his disapproval of the president.
Brazile’s endorsement comes after Boehner endorsed Trump in the past, in December, during a closed-door gathering of House Republicans.
Bucs leadership, which was made up of Boehner, Speaker Paul Ryan and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, were forced to make a change after several lawmakers who supported Trump’s candidacy, including Trump’s son Eric and top aide Jason Miller, pulled out of the caucus.
Bohlers support for Trump has been the subject of a major backlash, with Democrats and many Republicans accusing him of betraying the party’s core principles.
Bosworth, who also sits on the House Appropriations Committee, said he expects Boehner will endorse Trump again in the future.
“Boehnis support is one of the reasons that I believe that the House will return to a Republican majority,” Bosworth said.
